There aren't too many coffees that literally make us say "wow" out loud, but when we sampled this at the SCA expo last year this coffee did exactly that. Colombia Jairo Arcila is one of those coffees that we may never get to experience again but we are certainly savoring every sip of it. An incredible peach bomb with tropical tea notes, candied apricot, and honey syrup. Easily the best coffee we've ever had at Kings Arms.

Origin Story
This exotic coffee from Santa Monica, Colombia combines decades of growing experience with innovation in specialty coffee production. The freshly picked cherries are placed in anaerobic fermentation tanks, filled with carbon dioxide, and combined with peaches and wine yeast. As the cherries begin to ferment, the CO2 triggers an enzymatic reaction within the fruit, kick-starting fermentation from inside the cherry. The result, is a remarkable cup with intense aromatics, syrupy sweetness, and pronounced peach undertones.
Jairo Arcila, a third-generation coffee grower from Quindio, Colombia, retired in 2019 after over 40 years as Mill Manager for Colombia’s second-largest exporter. He purchased his first coffee farm, Finca La Esmeralda, in 1987 and expanded to acquire five more farms, providing local employment during harvest seasons. With his sons’ expertise in specialty coffee production, Jairo improved his farming techniques, introducing exotic varieties like Pink Bourbon and Gesha across his properties.
